Newton Abbott Spurs 1 (1) Central City 2 (1) - Friendly
Spurs gunned down by the City Arsenal
Central kept their run of form going with a good win at Newton Abbott.
Playing with the bare eleven, once again, despite several positional changes they kept their shape and produced a solid performance. Spurs were restricted to a few long range efforts early on, and it came as no surprise that when they did score it was from distance. Noah managed to get a hand to the shot but it was too strong and nestled into the corner. City kept playing football and soon equalised with a Cameron free kick to take the teams in level at the break.
The second half remained competitive and fitness levels were given a good test on a large pitch. 20 minutes into the half a managerial decision to move Tom Day up to support the front two was instantly rewarded when he got on to the end of a long pass to steer it past the keeper. City had the lead and despite tiring late on they kept their focus and claimed a well deserved victory.
It was a good run out for the players and sets them up for the final three games of the season.

The home straight!!
Hello everyone
Just a quick note from me to say how great we were as a team
on Saturday and how enjoyable it was to come away with a nice victory against a
well organised and strong Newton Abbot team.
With only a bare 11 players it was going to be a tough task,
they are looking likely to win their league (Division One) next week but we
played really nice football across the park and came away with a very creditable
2-1 win.
I have been so pleased/proud/impressed with our recent performances
and are playing some great football in a brilliant spirit of friendship and
sportsmanship. It is a real pleasure to
watch and be part of this team.
It is looking like we are without Joey for the remainder of
the season after he sustained a broken wrist last week. We wish you well Joey and a speedy recovery.
Training will now switch to King George V on Wednesdays from
6-7.
So we have three matches remaining:
Home v Cullumpton on Saturday 22nd April (no
Ewan, Zak, Cameron and Joey)
Home v Central United on Wednesday 26th April
(6.30pm KO) (no Joey)
Away v West Exe on Saturday 6th May (no Ewan,
Zak, Cameron and Joey)
Please also note the award afternoon on Saturday 29th
April at Exeter City Ground (2pm – 5pm)
Hope that you have all had a good break and see you on
Wednesday.
Thanks everyone
Mark
