Central City 1 (0) Alphington 5 (4)
In what was always going to be a tough fixture, City were well beaten by an Alphington side who remain undefeated this season.
The first half was spent mainly in the Central half, but they defended well for the first 15 minutes keeping the game at 0-0. Eventually Alphington broke the deadlock with a firm half-volley leaving Noah little chance. This dented the city spirit and they showed too much respect to the opposition for the remainder of the first period. With a bit more belief and aggression they could have kept the score down, but the game was beyond reach as they trailed at half time by 4 goals to nil.
The half time talk whipped the lads up and the second half was a much more even affair. The tackles started to count and the opposition could tell that they were in a match. It was also noticeable that the Alphington players started to question the referee, a skill surely picked up from Match of the Day. Shortly after going five down, Sam floated a superb free kick over the defence for Dylan to tuck the ball past the keeper to get City on the scoresheet. A well deserved goal for the team's second half performance.
There were two noticeable performances for City, Sam Plumer at centre half who's place kicks were excellent and Tom Oliver for his contribution at right back.
