Will A & summer plans!

Hello everyone,

Was great to see everyone at the tournament in Crediton yesterday, a shame that neither of the teams were able to progress through to the knockout stages but was still nice to get together and enjoy some football.

Thanks especially to Ollie and Sean who joined us on loan from central United.

Sadly we were not given a place at next week’s Moors Youth Tournament.  Therefore the next tournaments are on 2nd July and 9th July at Honiton and Newton St Cyres respectively.  I will be in touch about these closer to the time.

I bring some more bad and sad news!  I had a lovely chat with Will Aggett yesterday at the tournament and Will has decided to step down from the match day squad to pursue other interests and activities.  I know that this must have been a very tough decision for Will.  He has been an ever present member of our squad for many many years and has always brought his own special character to our team.  Funny, caring and enthusiastic I know that I will speak on behalf of the whole team in wishing Will well and also thanking him for being such a great member of our squad.

I am hopeful that Will will continue to train with us on a Wednesday evening and I am sure that he will come along to some of our matches next season and cheer his mates on….maybe even get some cool pictures using his drone!

As with Ewan a couple of weeks ago, of course we will miss Russ and Lynn as well as Will.  Thank you to you both for all that you have done over the years and for your support and friendship.

We really do need to try and identify at least one new player to join our squad for next season, so if you can have a think about anyone you might know from school, friendship groups etc that would be great.  The transfer budget isn’t massive but we can promise a friendly, competitive and exciting environment to play football.

Have a good couple of weeks

Farewell to Ewan

Hi everyone

Hope that you are all well and missing the football season already!

I know that many of you enjoyed trips to Twickenham and Wembley last week and had a great time, albeit with slightly different results!!

Just a quick update about next season, its mixed news I am afraid.

Our training slot has been changed and put back an hour so will now be from 7pm to 8pm on Wednesday evenings, still at Isca.

The sad news is that this has meant Ewan having to make a difficult decision as this clashes with his swimming/triathlon training to which he is really committed and very successful.

That hard reality of not being able to be in two places at once means that Ewan will be stepping out of the squad for next season which is a great shame for us all.

Ewan has been a key part of our squad for many years and has offered us passion, versatility and skill in defence, mid field and in attack.

We are sad to see you go Ewan and I know I speak on behalf of John and the whole squad in saying thank you for being such a great team mate and good luck.

I would also like to thank Rupert and Emer as well for their help and support in recent years.  Rupert is our webmaster and kept the blog updated and Emer a great organiser of social events.

So this means we have a couple of ‘situations vacant’!

We will need to try and recruit one other player, so if you know of anyone at school or in your friendship groups who is keen please let me know.  Also anyone who would have half an hour a week to keep the website updated it would be really really appreciated.  Again just let me know.

I will text details of the tournament on Sunday tomorrow.

Regards to all
