2017/18 Fixtures

Hi everyone

Just to draw your attention to the following link.....

http://full-time.thefa.com/ProcessPublicSelect.do?psSelectedSeason=440315028&psSelectedDivision=404081593&psSelectedLeague=341110202&Submit.x=11&Submit.y=11

Which has a list of the fixtures for the season ahead.

A BRILLIANT training session yesterday, thanks for putting in so much effort on a warm morning, it has been great to see everyone looking sharp and focused.

Please don't forget Marine Simon at 18:00 sharp on Wednesday, we will have a slightly easier session from 7pm to 8pm.

Can I stress how important it is that all players bring enough water with them for all training and matches.

To confirm that the friendly on Saturday 2nd September will be at Feniton Football club, if we could meet at 9.45am please on each match day, kick off is at 10.30am.

Sadly I am working but John will be there and will manage the team.

Many thanks and see you on Wednesday.

Regards

Mark

Mid Week Training

Midweek Training

For a number of reasons we have had to change both the time and the venue for our mid week training.

It will continue to be on Wednesday evening but be from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and will be at Exeter School, Barrack Road.

The change has been to enable a younger age group to slot into our original slot.

The benefit to us is that we will have 1/2 of the asto pitch effectively two pitches which is great and will enable us to focus on more specific training drills etc.

However please note that until we loose the light mid week training will be at KGV.

Thanks

Mark

Our 2017/18 Campaign starts here and now!!

Hello everyone

Hope that you are all well and have had a good summer break.  I appreciate that some of you are still away.

Just wanted to say hello and to outline some of the plans for the 2017/18 season.  We have two seasons left at youth level and I am really hopeful that they will be fun, competitive and exciting ones for the Central City crew!

I am pleased to confirm that we have a full squad going into the start of the season and have made a couple of new and exciting signings!  As you know Will Killkenny is joining us, Will was around toward the end of last season and will be a great asset to the team.

Also joining us will be Pacey Large.  Some of you will know Pacey from the Central United team, he is a talented and physical player and will fit nicely into our squad.  I know that everyone will give both Pacey and Will a warm welcome when we start back.

Speaking of which......
Preseason training will start at 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday 23rd August at KGV.  As before I have asked my friend Marine Simon to come and do some preseason fitness work which I know is hard but enjoyable.  Simon is fresh from doing pre-season with a semi professional team so will have some good ideas and suggestions and bring his own style to the sessions.

We then have a friendly on 26th August against the new Southampton Academy (formally Arsenal South WQest) who we played last year.  The venue for this is not confirmed yet but I will get this to you asap.

Training again on Wednesday 30th August (6pm to 8pm) and then another friendly at Feniton on Saturday 2nd September.

As always I will be joined by John Braddick and I know John feels as equally motivated as I do for the new season.

The season then starts on Saturday 9th September.

Just a few other bits if that's okay...

Text contact - I know that increasingly last season I was texting parents to inform of plans and arrangements, this is just slightly easier for me and I hope it is not too much of a pain!  As the boys are getting older I would be happy to also add their numbers to my text distribution lists.  if you are happy with this then just let me have their numbers.

Kit - we will need to chat about this during pre season, my gut sense was that the home and away kits were nice but a bit of a pain so might suggest we just stick with one kit.  That said I will need to know what people have and need.

Registration and payment - I will bring the  registration and payment forms to pre season training and could I ask that you complete them ASAP and send them directly to Belinda Roome our treasurer.  Any problems or difficulties please let me know

Keeping in touch - Could I ask that all parents/players make every effort to keep in touch with me this season, I will always do my best for the team but equally it is not fair for me to have to text people 4-5 times to find out information.  I don't have a lot of spare time, so would ask that you let me know as soon as you do if your son might not be able to attend training or a match.

As I indicated at the end of last season, we are aiming and planning on winning all our matches and I would love us to have a good run in the cup too.  Players need to be 100% committed and motivated to play and I am sure that this will be rewarded with good results.

I ask all players to be ready to train hard and play hard, be prepared (shin pads, water, snacks etc)  I think the little things can make a big difference.  Players coming to training without a bottle of water, or a match day without breakfast, wont be acceptable this season if that's okay.

Sadly with Will A and Ewan leaving we will have lost in their parents some valuable assiatance in setting the pitches up on match day and also running the blo which Rupert used to do.  Does anyone fancy taking this on?  It is not to challenging but I know is appreciated.  Most posts are read between 350-400 times!!  Maybe a player or a sibling with an interest in IT?

Okay enough from me, I look forward to seeing you ready to train at 6pm please....not 6.10pm :-) on Wednesday 23rd August.

Any problems just let me know

Regards as always....come on City!!

Mark
