Exciting Team news and Summer Tournements!

Hello everyone,

Hope that you are all well and enjoying the sunshine. For those that are able to come to the social day on Saturday the weather is looking wonderful!

So I bring you some really important news that I know will be met with a mixture of emotions by you all.

As you know Cameron has been training with the Arsenal Development Squad for the last year and this has led to some wonderful opportunities, such as playing at the Emirates Stadium in an international 3v3 tournament a few weeks ago.

He was asked to have trials with the Arsenal regional elite squad which he has done over the last month and we are very proud to say that Cameron has been selected to play for Arsenal in the Junior Premier League.

Cameron, Fran and I have all given it a lot of thought over the last week as this will mean giving up his place in the Central City team. However opportunities like this come few and far between and so Cameron wants to grab it with both hands.

He is really excited about this chance but also has mixed feelings as he has enjoyed being part of the central City squad for the last 4 years, and will miss playing and training with his friends.

I am sure that I speak on behalf of all the players and their families in wishing Cameron all the very best with this opportunity and that we look forward to hearing all about it.

This will also clearly be a big loss for the team, John and I have already spoken about how this will impact on the team, but I am sure that we will come together and fill that central defensive position which Cameron excelled in last season.

Cameron would like to play in the summer tournaments for Central City (more of them in a bit) and of course will be keen to come and cheers the City boys on when he can.

It would be nice to have the chance to thank Cameron for being a great part of the City team at some stage, as we have done with all boys as they move onto pastures new!

Clearly this has also been a complicated decision because of my role as manager of the team, however I have decided that it would only be right to continue in that role for the 2014/15 season and to try and build on the great work that we all did last season.

 Summer Tournaments!
So I have entered Central City into 3 tournaments this summer.

They are all good fun and provide a nice opportunity o all meet up, play some 5 or 6 a-side matches and hopefully progress

It would be great if all members of the squad can play in at least one of the tournaments and as such I will be asking for expressions of interest nearer the time.

 The dates are
Saturday 12th July at Newton St Cyres, Saturday 19th July (possibly Sunday) at Cullumpton and
Saturday 23rd August at CW Dynamos.

Happy to chat more about these on Saturday or just give me a call if you want more information.

 Best wishes
 Mark
