City were knocked out of the cup in a one sided match against a big and strong Alphington side.
Struggling with injuries to key players it was always going to be a tough game, but city fought well after conceding an early goal and went in at half time with a narrow 2-0 deficit. The second goal being conceded through a fortunate Alphington shot that went through Noah’s legs.
The second half started okay but after we conceded a third some positional changes were made in an attempt to become more offensive.
Unfortunately this led to more gaps appearing at the back and Alphington ran away with a comfortable victory.
We are a good team, but we need to work harder on our physical side and make better use of the ball when we are in possession.
Unfortunately there were too many passes lacking thought or direction.
