St Martins Match report

Central City 1 (0) v St Martins 4 (2)
A disappointing start to City's league campaign with defeat to a well organised St. Martins side.
The away team started the brightest and were well worth their 1-0 lead after 15 minutes.
However, the introduction of Onur after 20 minutes helped energise City and they came back into the match and could have equalised with 2 good chances falling to Dylan.
Just before half time City were hit by a stroke of bad luck when Charlie deflected a shot past Noah and City went in at half time 2 goals down.
The second half was evenly matched, but ten minutes in the Saints made it 3-0 when too much time and space was left on the edge of the City box, and a low shot was drilled into the bottom corner.
City became more physical and their work rate remained high and with 15 minutes remaining they were awarded a penalty when Ewan was fouled in the area. Dylan calmly stroked it past the keeper to bring a goal back. Moments later City could have easily been awarded a second penalty when Dylan was pushed in the back, but the referee did not deem the challenge to be a foul.
That was City's last chance and St. Martins finished off the game with a late fourth.
A good battling performance by City in a tough opening match to this season’s campaign.
